    Clubs & Activities

    Division 2 (Grades 4-6) & Junior High (7-9) 

    Extra curricular activities and clubs are still being determined, and will be somewhat dependent on staff, but you can count on lots of fun activities to get involved in. Some clubs and activities that have been offered in the past include art club, intramural sports, science olympics, choir, student leadership, open gym and breakfast club.

    School Philosophy

    Alex Janvier is designated as an Arts Core school and there will be some great opportunities for students as a result, but again our goal is to create an inclusive environment where all students feel like they belong, even if they don't consider themselves 'artistic'. We will strive to achieve balance with the other important elements of a school community including leadership opportunities, citizenship, a strong complementary program, athletics, and other extracurricular activities.

Alex Janvier School Virtual Open House

Alex Janvier School is full in planned classes in Grades 4 to 9 in the Regular Program. We will now only accept resident students who move into the school’s attendance area for the regular program for these grades. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.


Alex Janvier students in grades 4,5 & 6 who live outside the walk boundary are eligible for yellow bus service. The deadline to apply is June 1st to guarantee your student has service on the first day of school.

Alex Janvier gives these words of advice to our students.
